Corbin Petro is a prominent CEO and mission-driven leader recognized for her role advancing value-based care and improving health for vulnerable populations across entities large and small. She is President of Carelon Behavioral Health, Elevance Health's BH business.

Petro has an extensive background in healthcare including serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Massachusetts Dept of Medicaid, a $13B agency providing health care to 1.4M Massachusetts residents; was founder and CEO of two companies, including Eleanor Health, an organization providing evidence-based, whole person care for populations with substance use disorder and mental health needs; advising a US Senator on healthcare reform; and roles at Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte Consulting, and American Management Systems. Most recently, she has been an independent and trusted Advisor & Board Member to organizations from seed-stage to Fortune 500.

As founding CEO of Eleanor Health, Petro led Eleanor through its Series C funding, raising more than $100M to change both the care model and payment systems for an often-overlooked population. Prior to Eleanor Health, Petro was the founding CEO of Benevera Health, a payer-provider JV and population health company. As CEO, she oversaw both Harvard Pilgrim’s New Hampshire insurance business ($650M) and the newly created population health company.

Petro is passionate about improving healthcare for vulnerable populations and advancing equity for women and marginalized groups. She is active as Co-Chair of Fenway Health's BOV, a minority owner of the Utah Royals Women’s Professional Soccer team, and Chair of Health Evolution’s VBC group.

A former collegiate distance runner, she enjoys running & biking, has completed 6 marathons, and biked solo, self-supported, across the country covering 3,200 miles in 33 days. She is active in local and regional politics, previously serving as the Chair and Treasurer of a campaign for Mass Lieutenant Governor.

Petro was honored to be one of fifteen healthcare executives under 40 named a “2018 Up and Comer” by Modern Healthcare. She received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Corbin and her wife, Jessica Gelman, have a strong commitment to promoting gender equality and diversity in all aspects of their lives. They are the proud parents of two sons and reside in the greater Boston area.
