Corbin Petro
Corbin Petro is a highly accomplished CEO and healthcare industry leader who has led organizations in both the public and private sectors, from early-stage startups to large enterprises. She is renowned for advancing value-based care and improving health for vulnerable populations. Currently President of Carelon Behavioral Health, Elevance Health’s behavioral health subsidiary, she is a broadly experienced board member, CEO advisor, and investor in organizations advancing equity in healthcare and sports.
In her role as CEO of Carelon Behavioral Health, Petro leads a business serving health plan, employer, and government clients impacting more than 60 million people. She joined Elevance Health to lead the behavioral health business in 2024 after serving as founding CEO of Eleanor Health. Petro founded Eleanor Health in 2019, raised more than $100 million through Series C funding, and built a pioneering, value-based addiction and mental health company recognized for transforming care and payment models for an underserved population.
Prior to Eleanor Health, Petro was the founding CEO of Benevera Health, a payer/provider joint venture among Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) and four hospital systems in New Hampshire. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer of MassHealth, the $13 billion Massachusetts Medicaid agency providing care to 1.4 million residents. Earlier in her career, Petro held strategy and finance roles at Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte Consulting, and American Management Systems, and served as a healthcare advisor in the U.S. Senate.
Petro is passionate about improving healthcare for vulnerable populations and advancing equity for women and marginalized groups. She is an active board member and investor including as a minority owner of the Boston Legacy Women’s Professional Soccer team.
A former collegiate distance runner, she enjoys running & biking, has completed 6 marathons, and biked solo, self-supported, across the country covering 3,200 miles in 33 days. She is active in local and regional politics, previously serving as the Chair and Treasurer of a campaign for Mass Lieutenant Governor.
Petro was honored to be one of fifteen healthcare executives under 40 named a “2018 Up and Comer” by Modern Healthcare. A Yale and Wharton graduate, she lives in Boston with her wife and two sons.
