MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference is partnering with Oracle (a global technology company) to host the Oracle Innovation Challenge! This year’s theme is innovating the sports & entertainment gameday experience. Applications are due on February 11, 2022 and can be found at this link.

The Task: Graduate students from around the country will be tasked with creating and presenting an in-person or at-home gameday innovation to a panel of judges from Oracle. The proposed idea must integrate with Oracle’s cloud computing expertise, data analytics services, and/or sports and entertainment software/hardware. The idea must also pertain to one of the following topics: 

1. Gameday experience during the game and/or the time leading up to the game  

2. Enhancing the experience for fans watching the game from home or public space

A few teams will have the opportunity to present their ideas during the conference as finalists and the top place winner’s presentation will also be showcased in the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference newsletter. All finalists must submit slide presentations before the conference.

The Prize: The event finalists are eligible to compete for the top three prizes, which will be awarded following the 2022 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference:

Registration for the 2022 Oracle Innovation Challenge is now live. Individual or team registration must be completed by February 11, 2022. If you are selected as a finalist, presentations must be submitted by February 25, 2022.

ELIGIBILITY 

In order to register successfully, an individual or team must adhere to the following eligibility criteria: 

• A team may include up to three individuals (i.e. one, two, or three applicants)

• Each applicant must be a enrolled in a graduate school pursuing a degree 
• Each applicant must be at least 18 years of age 
• Each applicant must be U.S.-based 
• Each applicant must purchase a ticket to the Sloan Sports Analytics Conference 2022

• Finalists must submit a presentation prior to conference for Oracle’s initial review
