About

Michele Steele is a correspondent for ESPN based in Chicago. A versatile journalist, she has covered some of the biggest stories nationally for SportsCenter, Sunday NFL Countdown, NFL Live, Outside the Lines and ESPN’s digital platforms. Her favorite assignments include postgame and live reports for Monday Night Football on SportsCenter, the Scripps National Spelling Bee and the Warrior Games, featuring athletes from our nation’s armed forces. She also serves as a fill-in anchor for SportsCenter.

Prior to ESPN, Steele covered the markets for Bloomberg Television before becoming the network’s first full-time sports reporter.

A native of Chicago, she supports the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA), the Alliance Francaise and the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. In 2019, she was recognized by ESPN in its “Volunteer of the Year” awards among employees for her work with Special Olympics and Unified Sports.
