Elliot Schwartz

ABOUT

Elliot Schwartz is a Performance Innovation Lead with the USOPC’s Performance Innovation team.  Elliot is focused on leveraging of data, analytics, and technology to support athlete performance, health, and wellness.  Using his figure skating officiating experience and his analytical background, Elliot provides data-based strategic insights to US Olympic High Performance teams, coaches, and athletes in several summer and winter acrobatic sports.  He leads the monthly Data, Analytics & Technology Forum and the Data, Analytics & Technology Summit to build capability and community across the US Olympic & Paralympic Movement.  Elliot also conducts capability inventories to guide National Governing Bodies in their data analytics journeys and identify scale opportunities for the USOPC.

Before transitioning to sports analytics, Elliot founded, built, and led P&G/Gillette’s Engineering Modeling & Simulation department, which delivered millions in topline growth and bottom-line savings to the Gillette and Venus Blades & Razors businesses by serving as analysis partners to product, process, and equipment designers.  Elliot has a PhD in materials engineering and bachelor’s degrees in applied math and materials science and engineering from MIT.

Elliot has been a U.S. Figure Skating official for 20 years and served as the National Vice Chair for Education of Technical Panel officials.  Elliot has also served as an official at several national and international figure skating championships as a judge, data replay operator, and accountant.  Prior to focusing on figure skating, Elliot was a junior varsity tennis player and an assistant coach for the Women’s Varsity Tennis team at MIT.
