About

Russell Wolff is executive vice president and general manager of ESPN+. In his role, he is responsible for business and strategic leadership, management and day-to-day oversight of ESPN+, the industry-leading sports streaming service,. He works closely with functional groups across ESPN and Disney, including programming, marketing, product, technology, research and analytics, ad sales, finance, communications and more. He also works closely with teams in both ESPN and Disney on the overall management and commercialization of ESPN-branded digital products.

ESPN+ is a key piece of The Walt Disney Company’s strategy to develop more direct relationships with consumers. Launched in April 2018, ESPN+ has grown to 24.9 million subscribers as of February 2023 and offers fans more than 27,500 live events per year, acclaimed original programming, and exclusive access to premium editorial content.

Wolff previously served as executive vice president and managing director, ESPN International, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of ESPN’s international businesses, which included networks reaching more than 60 countries and territories across all seven continents and a global digital media portfolio. Wolff joined ESPN in 1997 as vice president, ESPN international.

Since 2014, Wolff has also guided ESPN’s programming and multimedia relationship with Special Olympics, including multiyear, multimedia deals that extend through 2027.

He graduated Dartmouth College with an A.B. degree and received his M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the Tuck School and previously served on the Dartmouth Alumni Council as President.
