Chairman and Principal Owner of the Philadelphia Union and Union Sports & Entertainment. Mr. Sugarman is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Safehold (NYSE:SAFE) the leader of the modern ground lease industry with a portfolio of approximately $7 billion ground leases located throughout top cities in the United States. Mr. Sugarman graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University, where he was nominated for valedictorian and received the Paul Volcker Award in Economics. He received his MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School, graduating as a Baker Scholar and recipient of the school’s academic prizes in both finance and marketing. Jay is also a partner in Moon Juice, a health and wellness company in Venice Beach, and sponsors the Practitioners in Residence Program at Princeton University’s Center for Behavioral Science.
