Gerry Cardinale is the Founder and Managing Partner of RedBird Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on building high growth companies with flexible, long-term capital in partnership with entrepreneurs and families.

Since its launch in 2014, RedBird has led over $3.0 billion in equity and co-investments across 20 portfolio companies in its four key industry verticals:  Sports, Leisure & Hospitality; Communications; Business & Financial Services; and Energy & Industrial Services.  

Prior to founding RedBird, Gerry spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs where he was a Partner of the firm and a senior leader of the Merchant Bank’s private equity investing business.

During his tenure, Gerry worked with entrepreneurs and family business owners to build several successful multi-billion-dollar companies, including the Yankees Entertainment & Sports (“YES”) Network, Legends Hospitality, and Suddenlink Communications.

In Sports, Gerry sits on the boards of the YES Network, which RedBird recently re-acquired; Yankee Global Enterprises (“YGE”), and OneTeam Partners, a partnership with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and MLB Players Association (MLBPA) which helps athletes maximize the value of their name, image and likeness rights.
