Emelie Eldracher

2024 Paralympic Silver Medalist

About

Emelie Eldracher is a graduate student at MIT in the MIT Sports Lab. She is also the 2024 Paralympic Silver Medalist coxswain for the Mixed PR3 4+.  Her master’s thesis explores markerless 3D skeletal tracking with a particular emphasis on the Para rowing stroke. Her research in the Sports Lab focuses on athletic textile engineering and the best fabrics for athlete performance.

Emelie previously prototyped AI for wearable devices using TinyML and delivered a TEDxMIT talk on this lightweight machine learning. With a passion for cognitive science, she co-authored a paper in Autism Research and worked with Australia Cycling on BMX freestyle.  After 18 years of practicing Tang Soo Do, she’s also a 4th degree Master and teacher.
