Tyler is the SVP, Hockey Strategy and Analytics with the New Jersey Devils. This is his fifth season with the team. Prior to working for the Devils, Tyler consulted for other NHL teams with respect to hockey analytics. He was also a columnist with The Athletic, writing about hockey from an analytics perspective.

Tyler has over 15 years of experience in the hockey analytics field. His website mc79hockey.com was an influential site of early hockey analytics discussion and investigation. A graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2006, Tyler practiced law in Toronto for several years before transitioning to working full-time in hockey analytics.
