Sara Civian has been a reporter, host, advocate, and personality in hockey media for over a decade.

After serving as managing editor for Penn State's student-run news website Onward State, she took a role at The Athletic, covering the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes for years as a beat reporter. There she met the co-hosts that would form Too Many Men, a hockey podcast focusing on cultural commentary of the game. Now, she's back in Boston hosting Too Many Men, writing columns and hosting shows for Bleacher Report, talking NBA and WNBA for BetRivers, and now running her own Substack: The Civ Report.

The Civ Report is a weekly newsletter contextualizing the happenings in hockey world and the sports world, but it also provides an active group chat for subscribers to discuss these topics and develop a sense of community. Civian hopes to change the way sports fans interact online for the better with the group chat, featuring a zero-tolerance policy for trolling and encouraging thoughtful interactions.
