Emily Kraus
Dr. Emily Kraus is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a sports medicine physician with expertise in endurance athletes and the female athlete. She directs the Female Athlete Science and Translational Research (FASTR) Program, powered by the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, leading interdisciplinary efforts to optimize health, performance, and injury prevention across the female athlete lifespan. Her research focuses on bone health, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), menstrual health, and data-driven approaches to training and recovery, with a broader mission of closing the gender gap in sports science and performance research. Dr. Kraus serves in leadership roles with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), is co-chair of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee REDs Expert Panel, a member of the USOPC Women’s Health Task Force, and co-leads the USA Cycling Female Sport Science Working Group. She also advises emerging technology companies, including Clair, advancing female-specific performance insights through wearable and biomarker innovation.
