Christian Hubicki

About

Dr. Christian Hubicki is a Roboticist and Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. His research specializes in legged robotics, optimal control, and biomechanics. He completed his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University with minors in Physics and Music, a dual-degree PhD in Robotics/Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, and postdoctoral work at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His awards include the Gilbreth Lectureship from the National Academy of Engineering, “Best Paper” from IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine, and a Young Faculty Researcher grant from the Toyota Research Institute. His robotics work has been featured in media outlets from the Science Channel to CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

In 2018, Christian competed on the TV series “Survivor: David vs. Goliath.” After his 35-day journey, he is most proud that he promoted a love of science to an audience of millions
