Founder/CEO, Zephyr Technologies; VP, Business Development, Medtronic @briankrussell Brian is the former CEO/Founder of Zephyr Technologies which was acquired by Covidien and then Medtronic. His current role as VP Business Development is responsible for patient monitoring, defense and performance based solutions. Over the past two decades Brian Russell has commercialized ground breaking technology products in the US and Europe for Medtronic, Zephyr, Nokia and Analog Devices and Fisher and Paykel. Zephyr was acquired by Covidien in March 2014 for its global leadership in the area of wearable remote physiological monitoring solutions. Mr. Russell was the CEO and founder of Zephyr up to its acquisition. The companies solutions draw from Zephyr's decade of experience remotely monitoring Special Forces, First Responders, Professional Sports and patients, where ever there is a need to measure life anywhere. Mr. Russell received his Bachelor of Engineering at Auckland University, New Zealand; and is a subject matter expert in analog electronics, communications and physiology. He holds multiple patents in the area optics, physiological sensing and wearable sensors.
