Amanda Glazer

ABOUT

Amanda Glazer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her PhD in statistics from UC Berkeley and her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics from Harvard University. Her research focuses on developing statistical methods motivated by real-world problems, with a particular emphasis on sports analytics. At UT Austin, she created and teaches an undergraduate course in sports analytics.

Before joining UT, she spent four and a half years as a Baseball Operations Analyst with the San Francisco Giants. Her experiences in professional baseball continue to shape her academic work, grounding her methodological research in practical questions related to player evaluation, injury risk, and performance projection.
