John Wroblewski

Head Coach, US Women's Hockey
ABOUT

John Wroblewski serves as the Head Coach of the U.S. Women’s National Ice Hockey Team. Since his appointment in 2022, he has guided Team USA to continued international success, highlighted by a gold medal at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. In the calendar year leading up to the Games, his team went undefeated in international competition en route to capturing Olympic gold. Notably, he is the only head coach in IIHF history to lead both a women’s national team and a men’s national team to gold medals in international competition.

Prior to leading the national team, Wroblewski was the head coach of the Ontario Reign, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. He also played a key role within USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, where he helped develop many of the nation’s top prospects. Under his leadership, the program set NHL Draft records at the 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver, with seven players selected in the first round and a total of 17 players drafted overall — the most ever in a single draft from one program.

A former forward at the University of Notre Dame, Wroblewski served as team captain and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player during his senior season. He went on to play four professional seasons in the ECHL before transitioning into coaching. He is widely recognized for his structured systems, commitment to analytics-driven decision-making, and strong emphasis on elite player development at the highest levels of the game.
