Coordinator, Baseball Communications & Media Relations
RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, approve, and generate season and daily media credentials.Create media seating assignments in the press box for home games.Maintain the press box, including the distribution of game notes, lineup sheets, and other materials for home games.Contribute to daily pre-game notes.Compile and distribute post-game notes during home games.Draft, proofread, and editing press releases.Compile and send Red Sox-related news clips to front office and media daily.Direct daily media requests, including interview requests, baseball information requests, and credentialing.Provide office and administrative assistance as assigned by members of the Baseball Communications & Media Relations department.
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required.Working knowledge of Major League Baseball’s online credentialing system preferred.Working knowledge of baseball and statistics.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Sharp technical skills and aptitude for learning new applications.Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Must be able work hours consistent with MLB schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
