Philip Maymin is a professor of analytics at Fairfield Dolan, managing editor of Algorithmic Finance, co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Sports Analytics, CTO of Swipe.bet, Insight Partner with Essentia Analytics, and advisor to Athletes Unlimited. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from UChicago (chair: Richard Thaler), a Master's in Applied Math from Harvard, a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Harvard, and a J.D. in California as an attorney. He has been a Congressional candidate, an analytics consultant for NBA teams, and a portfolio manager at Long-Term Capital Management, Ellington Management Group, and his own hedge fund. He won a Wolfram Innovator Award in 2015, the Live Coding Challenge in 2016, and the One-Liner Competition in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. He was named one of the Top 50 US Data Analytics Professionals in 2018. He is the only person to have won both the Grand Prize for Best Research Paper (2018) and the Hackathon (2020) at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.
