As Executive Vice President, Sports Operations Kristin Bernert is responsible for leading the business operations for the Company’s professional sports franchises – New York Knicks, New York Rangers, Westchester Knicks, Counter Logic Gaming and Knicks Gaming – including developing their overall commercial strategy, vision and goals as well as managing business financial matters and building key strategic relationships. Miss Bernert also oversees MSG’s ticketing strategy and our world-class in-game and in-arena experiences for fans attending our events. In addition, she works across the Company to create marketing, sales and sponsorship plans along with fan development and community relations programs that strengthen the teams’ brands.
Ms. Bernert most recently served as Senior Vice President, Business Operations, MSG Sports, where her role included strategic planning, budgeting and day-to-day team business operations. In addition, she was a leading force behind the creation of compelling “fan-first” marketing, sales, partnership and community relations opportunities that maximized fan engagement while also improving business performance.
Ms. Bernert joined MSG in 2011, leading the New York Liberty’s business operations, which included contributing to player personnel, development and performance for the team. She has been recognized as a “Game Changer” by the Sports Business Journal for having a major impact on the sports industry. She has also been named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Hall of Fame Honor Roll and was enshrined in “The MAAC Experience” exhibit at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Prior to joining MSG, Ms. Bernert’s roles in the sports industry included: President of the Los Angeles Sparks; Vice President of Team Marketing and Business Operations at the NBA; Vice President at the Detroit Shock; Assistant Marketing Director at Ohio State University; and Assistant Athletic Director at Bowling Green State University. Ms. Bernert graduated from Siena College in 1996 with a BA in Psychology and received an MA in Sports Management from Ohio State University in 1998.
