Position Description

The primary focus of this position will be to analyze and interpret client’s data to provide human performance enhancement insights in the form of data visualization. The Sports Scientist and Data Analyst is responsible for performing data cleansing, data analysis, evaluating key performance metrics/indicators for coaches, trainers, dietitians, other stakeholders, and clients and translating these into a dynamic dashboard visualization. This position will undertake identified high priority sport science projects that address key performance questions on an athlete-specific level and conduct sport science activities with the objective of supporting human health, wellness, and performance.

Desired Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology Data Science, Statistics, or a related field

· Experience working with a collegiate or pro team

· Experience working with data analytics, directly manipulating complex player-data sets, and creating reports with statistical analysis

· Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

· Strong knowledge in load management, injury risk, return to play protocols,

· APPLIED sports science skills with wearables, force plates, VBT, and more

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to pivot & multi-task while under pressure and ability to deliver within fixed deadlines

· Strong analytical skills, user interface design skills, work ethic, critical thinking, problem solving ability, effective communication skills, and overall positive attitude

· Strong Experience with Data Visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI and Google Data Studio

· Ability to create advanced formulas and dynamic dashboards

· Knowledge of relational databases


Preferred:

· Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology Data Science, Statistics, or a related field

· 2+ years of relevant and applied work experience in the athletic/human performance setting

· Understanding of HIPPA compliance

· Advanced in Statistical Analysis

· Strong mathematical knowledge (Queueing Theory, Linear Programming, Game Theory, Probability, Poisson Distributions, etc.) unsure if needed exactly but cool to keep it too

· CSCS, CPSS, or other appropriate certifications

· Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis
