Position Description

Be a part of something big… We will be looking to fill 4 DMED Research, Insights, and Analytics Internship positions – two on the DMED Sports Research, Insights & Analytics team, one for the DMED, Research & Analytics – Entertainment team, and one for the Distribution and Marketplace Insights team. All of these teams are part of the larger DMED Research, Insights and Analytics group of more than 100+ world-class researchers measuring all aspects of media consumption across a wide range of networks, digital properties and SVOD services to guide The Walt Disney Company. A Day in the Life… DMED Sports Research, Insights & Analytics team: (New York, NY or Bristol, CT based) As an intern, you will participate in the collection, analysis and communication of audience data for ESPN’s digital media properties, linear properties, and direct-to-consumer service. The focus for this internship will be live sports, original content and studio shows, both on ESPN linear TV Networks and ESPN+. The intern will be charged with providing actionable insight to ESPN’s Programming & Production departments, Digital Media teams, and other core constituents. Responsibilities: Some of the work you can be involved in, depending on your team, may include: Using Nielsen software to query data for networks, programs, and telecasts Assisting in managing data for our content and competitive across broadcast, cable, and streaming Analyzing digital media trends on and off platform Will include working on primary research projects, including managing surveys, qualitative interviews, and fan community activities covering all DMED/ESPN properties and live sports properties, including on ESPN+ Using a variety of streaming data to provide insights about the performance of Disney-owned TV series and features Work Environment: This internship will be located in either Bristol, CT, Burbank, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work This will be a hybrid working situation with some days in the office and some days working remotely each week The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space for working remotely. The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2022 through August 2022 Candidate must be available to work full time (40) hours per week for the duration of the internship

Desired Qualifications

Strong attention to detail Willingness to be flexible, eager to learn new software and data organization processes Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Comfortable working with numbers Strong interest in television content and the media landscape Preferred Qualifications: Advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint Experience with Tableau, Python, SQL, or related is desirable Previous internship experience in a similar industry/entertainment/sports media landscape Required Education Currently enrolled as a junior or higher or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree Preferred Education Senior level or recent graduate (within the past 6 months) Additional Information: At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship Must be at least 18 years of age Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship Must possess unrestricted work authorization
