Under the direction and supervision of the Director, Performance Analytics, the Performance Data Scientist oversees the effective use of data and analytics to answer critical performance questions at the USOPC and NGBs. Manages a team responsible for developing tools to optimize the collection and statistical analysis of performance data. Applies advanced data integration and modeling techniques to unlock the value of data assets and provide sustained competitive advantages for Team USA. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker and quick learner who values efficient, high-quality work and effectively communicates analytical insights with accuracy and clarity. We are looking for a detail-oriented, trusted problem solver and leader with a passion for the Olympic and Paralympic Movements and experience in high-performance sport.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Sport Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field required
• 5+ years of experience delivering sports analytics or data science solutions in high-performance environments
• 2+ years of experience building and leading high-performing analytics teams • Advanced knowledge of statistical languages (R, Python, SAS), data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI), database architecture (SQL, Snowflake) and other programming languages
