Position Description

THE ROLE Lead the NHL Fan Engagement & Analytics team efforts around Ticketing and Premium Seating analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Utilizing detailed analytics of Club and League (BLADE) data, deliver insights to drive Ticket and Premium sales for Clubs and League events Analyze League (BLADE) and Club data to provide insights and analysis of ticket and premium growth opportunities and consumer trends • Leverage primary and secondary ticketing data to provide prescriptive analysis for Club business challenges including scaling and packaging • Manage the primary and secondary ticket data flows in the NHL’s internal data warehouse • Create standardized leaguewide Tableau dashboards • Design and build predictive revenue models for the League and individual-Clubs • Work closely with NHL Club Ticketing and Business Intelligence teams to analyze data and develop strategies for revenue growth • Design ticketing and premium seating data portals and data collection processes • Lead the planning and execution of specific sessions at NHL Ticketing Workshops, Analytics Workshops, and other League meetings • Liaise with vendors and use industry knowledge and outside research to provide Clubs with guidance on broader sports business and consumer trends

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data strategy or analytics role, ideally conducting Ticketing and Premium Seating analysis at a major professional/collegiate sports team or league (NHL, MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NCAA). In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have: • Strong technical skills including advanced Tableau and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint skills; proficiency in SQL, R, Python, etc. preferred • Experience manipulating and analyzing event ticketing data (e.g., Ticketmaster/Archtics, etc.) • Experience leading stadium/arena scaling and dynamic ticket pricing efforts for a professional team • Experience running retention models and lead scoring models for a professional team • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism and use independent discretion when sharing information • Ability to travel (domestic and international) periodically for business purposes and to work long hours as department workflow necessitates
