Callaway Golf, a global producer of premiere, state-of-the art golf clubs and balls, seeks a student to be a part of the 2021 internship season. Responsibilities include supporting explorative Tour performance and insights projects related to golf clubs and balls under the guidance of engineers and functional teams, using technical capability to improve data analysis efficiency and automation of test results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Interact with and conduct data analysis on sets of player / golf equipment performance data. - Write code to automate the analysis of raw data into a more usable format for engineers. - Contribute to the data processing of new research methods to help understand golfer and equipment performance.
- Must possess high initiative and ability to be self-motivated with minimal supervision. - Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work in a team environment. - Strong statistical / analytical skills and software experience (Matlab preferred). - Some programming / coding ability preferred (Python preferred). Data Scraping is a plus. - Familiarity with MS Office software preferred. Excel Macros is a plus. - Basic understanding of golf principles and terminology. Education and/or Experience -Students with 3 years of coursework completed in one of the following majors: Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent. -Previous engineering-related internship or prior experience preferred, but not required.
