William Spearman

Senior Data Scientist, Hudl

William Spearman is a senior data scientist at Hudl. At Hudl, William has used spatiotemporal tracking data to identify tactical insights and key moments in soccer. He has used physics-based modeling to construct visualizable models of open space, pass difficulty, and off-ball scoring opportunity. His work in soccer analytics has been presented at multiple forums and conferences including the 2017 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. Most recently, William was invited to speak at the first OptaPro analytics event to be held in the United States. Before Hudl, William completed his PhD, a measurement of the mass and with of the newly discovered Higgs Boson, at Harvard University through a collaboration with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
