Tyler Dellow has consulted for NHL teams. While attending law school in 2005, he created mc79hockey.com, a blog dedicated to exploring the use of data in hockey. Over the following decade, mc79hockey.com came to be recognized as a leading site for the development and testing of analytic concepts in hockey a well as data driven analysis of tactics, players and teams. Dellow is a 2006 graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He practiced law in Toronto until 2012. He has also written for The Athletic, FiveThirtyEight, sportsnet.ca, Sportsnet Magazine and worked in translating analytic concepts to television.
