Ryan Stimson

Ryan first began tracking passing data on the New Jersey Devils during the 2013 – 2014 season. Since then, he has managed and coordinated volunteer efforts to centralize a database over 1000 games of cutting edge data. By creating and testing new metrics, Ryan has pioneered ground-breaking analysis into player analysis, goal creation, and analyzing styles of play by quantifying various passing sequences. Ryan is currently developing his own systems of play based on the data-driven tactical advances through his own work and other tactical analysis by the hockey analytics community. He has attended and presented at several hockey analytics conferences since 2014, including co-hosting two at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ryan is also a consultant for the Division I 2016 Atlantic Hockey Conference Champion RIT Tigers.
