Murat Kurt is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University at Buffalo. He earned his BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University, and MS and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. His research seeks answers to vexing problems in medical decision making and addresses challenges in service operations and sports analytics using game theory, stochastic dynamic optimization and integer programming. His research has appeared in major journals of OR/MS area such as Informs Journal on Computing and European Journal of Operational Research, and been awarded by multiple international awards including the INFORMS Seth Bonder Scholarship in Applied Health Sciences and Pritsker Best Doctoral Dissertation Award.
