Momin Ghaffar is a versatile data scientist with experience in sports analytics, business analytics, and medical research. As a Manager of Analytics at the San Antonio Spurs, Ghaffar partnered with executive stakeholders to enhance strategic, data-driven decision-making across the organization. He focused heavily on statistical modeling to generate novel insights and facilitated internal product development, data infrastructure improvements, and technological innovations.
Ghaffar has co-authored research papers in football analytics and medicine. A recent participant in the inaugural Big Data Bowl hosted by the NFL, he and his group were awarded an honorable mention for their submission of an original research paper. His surgical outcomes research from his time at Duke University Medical Center has also been published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
In addition to his experience in analytics and research, Ghaffar has held roles in corporate strategy and finance with stints at Eventellect, The Home Depot, and a Goldman Sachs subsidiary. A proud Blue Devil, Ghaffar earned his Bachelor of Science in Evolutionary Anthropology from Duke University in 2015.
