John Guttag is the Dugald C. Jackson Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a Member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professor Guttag received A.B. and S.M. degrees from Brown University and his doctorate from the University of Toronto. From 1993–1998, he served as Associate Department Head from Computer Science of MIT’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department, and served as Head of that department from 1999–2004. His current research interests include predictive models for medicine, financial analytics, computer vision/graphics, and sports analytics. His most recent book is Introduction to Computation and Programming Using Python.
