President – RinkNet
This year is the 13th season that National Hockey League teams have been using RinkNet as their primary scouting database. The company has grown from just two clients in the beginning to a lineup that now includes 29 NHL clubs, 47 Canadian Hockey League clubs, 17 NCAA schools plus a number of other junior and European clubs. A total of over 2,100 managers, scouts and hockey administrators use RinkNet on a daily basis. The company has 22 employees working out of it’s headquarters in Guelph, Ontario.
The product includes schedules, player information and statistics across the literally hundreds of leagues that are scouted at both the professional and amateur levels. Scouts use the product to enter their own evaluations of each player, organize their travel schedules and even do their expenses. Managers can access material about players that they are looking at for their upcoming drafts as well as for free agent signings and trades. The product helps organize information and also analyze it through the use of formulas and algorithms. The company has added video and mobile devices to it’s product offering in recent years and are continuing to develop new and innovative products.
