J Sports Boston owns two radio stations (890 ESPN Boston (WAMG-AM) and 1400 ESPN Lowell (WLLH-AM)) in Greater Boston that are the exclusive ESPN Radio affiliates in the Boston radio market. Jessamy Tang oversees all aspects of these ESPN radio stations including advertising sales, programming, marketing, promotions, and finance.
Prior to this position, Jessamy held several senior management positions with ESPN, Inc. and ABC Radio. During her tenure with the company, she was responsible for, developed, and oversaw ABC Radio’s strategy for ESPN Radio and the transition of ESPN Radio from a syndicated programming provider to a full 24-hour, 7 day a week sports radio network and station business. Also, she was President & General Manager of ABC’s radio cluster in Pittsburgh, which included an ESPN Radio station. Under Jessamy’s leadership, the station became the highest rated ESPN Radio station owned by ABC. The station earned four “Achievement in Radio Awards” and “Sports Personality of the Year” in 2001. Other accomplishments include making ESPN’s first interactive television agreement and overseeing sales planning and administration for ABC Radio Networks.
She has also provided strategic media consulting services to professional sports teams, media companies, and sports leagues. She consulted to the Miami Dolphins in negotiating their broadcast & cable agreements which included domestic, international, English, Spanish, ancillary programming and play-by-play rights for radio, broadcast television, satellite television, and cable television. She also assisted Stanford Graduate School of Business in developing a custom designed executive education program for the National Football League.
Earlier in her career, Jessamy was a management consultant for Deloitte & Touche. Jessamy holds a Bachelor of Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
