Kim Pegula is the owner and CEO of Pegula Sports & Entertainment, a management company that oversees the business operations of a variety of sports, entertainment and hospitality entities. She is also the Co-Owner of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, the AHL’s Rochester Americans, the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits and the NWHL’s Buffalo Beauts as well as having ownership and management roles in a variety of other closely held companies.
Kim was born in Seoul Korea and adopted at the age of 5 years old and raised in Fairport, NY, attending nearby Houghton College and graduating in 1991 with a degree in Communications. Kim began her professional career joining her husband at East Resources Inc. in 1991 and was involved with the company until its sale in 2010.
In 2011 Kim along with her husband Terry purchased the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits and the Rochester Americans. They continued their commitment to the WNY area in the summer of 2012, when Terry and Kim began construction on the personally financed $172 million Harborcenter complex which features two NHL size rinks as well as a variety of sports and hospitality related entities. Harborcenter has been a driving force bringing national and international events to Buffalo and WNY. In 2014 the Pegulas won the bid for the NFL Buffalo Bills, securing the team in Buffalo and creating the One Buffalo movement. In 2014 Kim started PSE to help manage and operate all their WNY holdings in sports and hospitality. PSE has now grown to include PicSix Creative, a creative and marketing agency and AdPro Sports a supplier of custom team uniforms and branded merchandise, servicing clients not just in WNY but around the country.
Kim and Terry have also given back to support and encourage the growth of sports through their donations of $102 million to fund the Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State and $12 million for the Kerr-Pegula Athletic Complex at Houghton College.
Terry and Kim currently reside in Boca Raton, Fla. Together they have five children: Michael, Laura, Jessie, Kelly and Matthew.
