10th Anniversary Conference Wrap-Up

As we close out our #DecadeOfData conference, we are beyond excited to have shared the Super Bowl of Analytics/ Dork-a-Palooza with all of you. Both the conference and the world of sports analytics have grown significantly since Bill James started “looking at the money on the field” and the Sloan hosted a 100-person classroom session, and we feel grateful to hold a place in this community.

RECORD STATS AND NEW FRONTIERS: Our 3,900 attendees from 320+ academic institutions, 130+ teams and leagues, and 300+ industries spent the past two days in Boston listening, engaging, and innovating. Industry professionals and thought-leaders covered in-game performance, organizational strategies, and the business of sports as well as examining some of the new trends, including eSports and Daily Fantasy.

LIVE ACTION: We went LIVE Friday with ESPN and FiveThirtyEight’s Hot TakeDown podcast, with Daryl Morey and Shane Battier. Saturday we aired our first ever Facebook Live stream, reaching over 50K viewers (including Bill Simmons) for our 1-on-1 with Nate Silver.

THANKS FOR FOLLOWING ALONG: Our social media engagement over the last few days was huge. We had 15,000 posts with #SSAC16 and over 60 million impressions. Our snapchat filter was viewed by over 13,000 accounts. Thank you for your questions and comments and fashion reviews.

MISSED A PANEL? We will be uploading panel videos to our YouTube channel in a few weeks.
