The tools of sports analytics now drive coaching and personnel decisions in virtually every major professional sport, are at the heart of content created for fans, and are more and more a part of how we discuss sports on a daily basis. Sports related businesses are now also utilizing the tools of sports analytics to drive internal business decisions and directly create value. At ESPN, sports analytics is now being utilized to assist with decisions in new areas such as fan intelligence, marketing, programming, and sponsorship. This panel will discuss the tools used, and potential applications of sports analytics to drive business decisions across a variety of functions.
